But I wanted to build one and there are no full instructions for it. So here are the steps to follow.<\/p>\n<p>I used this <a href=\"https:\/\/forum.openmediavault.org\/index.php\/Thread\/18991-New-approach-for-Raspberry-Pi-OMV-images\/?pageNo=1&amp;s=39894a6a0664c35df10c5b8d78fc32e2913e3dc5\">instruction<\/a>, but some things are missing and so I put everything down in short form:<\/p>\n<p>Download the OMV Image <a href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/openmediavault\/files\/Raspberry%20Pi%20images\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/etcher.io\">Etcher<\/a>\u00a0to flash it on SD card.<\/p>\n<p>Insert card into raspberry, connect network cable. Wait (!) not only wait for the first time login, wait.. Raspberry upgrades in the background. Just do nothing(!) and wait more. About 10 to 40 min till the raspberry reboots again!<\/p>\n<p>Now, login for the first time as root. Change Password.<br \/>\nChange Keyboard Layout if you don&#8217;t use english one:<\/p>\n<p><code>dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration<\/code>check if your Wifi works:<\/p>\n<p><code>ifconfig -a<\/code>Do you see your wlan? If not, start at top.<\/p>\n<p>Add your wifi with:<\/p>\n<p><code>nmtui-connect<\/code>again:<br \/>\n<code>ifconfig -a<\/code>Now it could be a good idea to tell the router to fix the ip addresses.<br \/>\n<code>sudo shutdown now<\/code><br \/>\nremove power<br \/>\nconnect USB-Sticks, Harddisks, whatever. Be aware to use HD (also the 2,5) with their own Power(!).<\/p>\n<p>Repower your raspberry.<\/p>\n<p>And now first time to go to the OMV Web Interface.<br \/>\nPoint your browser to one of the ip addresses.<br \/>\nLogin admin\/openmediavault<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;System&#8221;<br \/>\nChange Password and Hostname in &#8220;System&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Storage&#8221;<br \/>\nFormat (Physical disks) then add Disk (file systems) in &#8220;Storage&#8221;<br \/>\nSelect and Mount your Disk (file systems).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Access Right Management&#8221;<br \/>\nAdd a user in &#8220;Access Right Management&#8221;.<br \/>\nAdd folder(s) in &#8220;Access Right Management&#8221;.<br \/>\nIn &#8220;shared folders&#8221; mark folder and &#8220;give privileges&#8221; to your user.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Services&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Settings&#8221; -&gt; Enable in &#8220;SMB\/CIFS&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Shares&#8221; -&gt; add your folder<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>OK, now it&#8217;s the time to test your new nas.
